Six Six Three

Tucked away on Atherton Road in Hindley Green, Six Six Three is the kind of place that makes you want to settle in and stay a while. Whether you're after a casual solo bite, an afternoon tea with flair, or cocktails that rival any city bar, this spot knows how to make an impression from the moment you step through its wheelchair-accessible entrance. The vibe is laid-back but polished, striking that sweet spot between cozy local charm and elevated dining experience.

From the outside, Six Six Three might look like your typical modern eatery, but walk in and you’ll quickly realise it’s so much more. There's a buzzing energy in the air - sometimes from the clink of wine glasses and chatter on the terrace, other times from the live music echoing through the indoor seating area. And yes, they’ve got outdoor seating perfect for those rare sunny afternoons in Wigan.

Now let’s talk drinks - and this place doesn’t play around. If you’re a cocktail lover, the Pornstar Martini and Strawberry Daiquiri are crowd favourites. Sweet, tangy, and served with that perfect Instagram-worthy finish, these drinks don’t just taste good, they feel like a moment. Prefer something with hops? Their craft beer selection, including popular choices like IPA, is impressive without being overwhelming. They’ve also got a great wine list, and Prosecco flows freely for celebratory vibes or just because it’s Tuesday.

Hungry? The food menu walks the line between pub comfort and foodie creativity. Their Pulled Pork Sandwich hits all the right notes - smoky, tender, and balanced with just the right kick of tangy slaw. For a lighter option, the Calamari Salad is a standout: crisp bites of squid over a fresh, herby bed of greens, perfect with a chilled glass of white. There’s also a Cheese and Charcuterie Board that makes an ideal centrepiece for a shared meal, especially if you're indulging in a wine night.

Pizza? Of course. A solid selection that doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel, but delivers on crust, cheese, and all the topping classics. Pair it with a cold beer and you’ve got yourself a winning combo, whether you’re dining in solo or with friends.

Accessibility is clearly thought through - from a wheelchair-accessible car park to restrooms designed for ease of use, Six Six Three makes it easy for everyone to enjoy what they offer without barriers. And though they don’t provide delivery, the dine-in experience is such a draw that it’s worth making the trip in person.

What really sets Six Six Three apart is the atmosphere. It’s more than just the food or drinks - it’s the mix of live performances, great service, and that warm welcome that makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. Whether you’re popping in for a quick IPA at the bar, or settling into a long lazy afternoon tea, there's something effortlessly inviting about this place.

And for those who like a bit of background buzz, the bar area serves up not only cocktails and spirits, but also a vibe that’s lively without being loud. It’s a space where locals mingle, dates unfold, and friends reconnect - all under the soft glow of hanging lights and the hum of good music.

So if you ever find yourself near Wigan, put Six Six Three on your radar. This isn’t just another local bar and kitchen - it’s a destination in its own right, with a bold drinks list, flavourful bites, and that elusive ability to feel both fresh and familiar all at once.

Great food in a relaxed atmosphere. Staff are very welcoming, and they're dog friendly, too. 4th June 2023 Sadly, I have not eaten here for some months due to the decline in the quality of the food and its FSA rating. I hope they manage to sort it out as it was a nice place on our doorstep.
